Permalink polish (#2771) ...

* Fix unbalanced padding.

* Animate the scroll to an event when it is already loaded.

* Perform the timeline clearance immediately before replacing the items.
Hides the empty timeline that was briefly shown.

* Make switching timeline more resilient.
